Crews were called to a Whitstable fish bar after oil caught fire in a deep fat fryer yesterday.

Two fire engines arrived to battle the blaze at Seychelles Fish Bar in Tankerton Road at 11.52am. They left the scene half an hour later.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “There was damage to the fryer and slight damage to the remainder of the shop. But nobody was injured.”
