A not-so-wily fox got himself stuck after falling 30ft into a storm tank at a sewage plant in Whitstable.

He found himself in need of rescuing as he precariously stood on a narrow ledge unable to get out of the Swalecliffe Treatment Works.

How'd he get down there? The lost fox on had fallen 30ft down a water tank

Fire crews pulled the lost youngster from the tank and he was taken into the care of the RSPCA.

Following a night of being cared for, he was then released back into the wild the next day.

RSPCA inspector Grace Harris-Bridge said: “This poor fox had got himself in a bit of a pickle, having fallen down into a storm tank at a sewage plant. Thankfully, someone spotted him and contacted us and we were able to climb down and catch the fox in the net after he tried to give us quite the run around!

“He was monitored overnight to make sure he was going to be okay and as he was in such good condition he was released back into the wild the next day.

“I’d like to thank the fire and rescue services for their assistance with this rescue as well as the Fox Project who monitored and cared for him overnight.”

Back to safety. The young fox was taken into the care of the RSPCA
