Man tries to rob Whitstable teen's mobile phone in Sand End alleyway

A hooded thug tried to rob a teenage boy in an alleyway before pushing him into a bush.

The teen had been walking through a narrow passageway in Sand End, Whitstable, just before 8am when he was approached by a man who tried to snatch his mobile phone.

But when the boy refused to let go, the man pushed him into a bush before running away empty-handed towards the basketball courts.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as white with a short brown beard, between 20 and 30 years old, and of medium build. He was wearing a light grey hoodie and tracksuit bottoms, along with black gloves and trainers.

Police have now released a computer-generated image of the suspect.

Anyone who recognises the description or the man in the image, or has any other information about the incident that happened on November 6 is urged to call 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/213209/19.
