Man arrested after burning items launched from building in Swalecliffe near Whitstable

A man was arrested on suspicion of arson after burning items were launched from the window of a flat.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene near Swalecliffe Court Drive, Swalecliffe near Whitstable.

The items - which are understood to have been cardboard boxes and paper - were extinguished and there were no reported injuries.

The incident happened shortly before 6pm on Saturday.

A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson and has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
