Oxford Street: Man arrested in Whitstable high street on suspicion of drug offences after car stopped

A man suspected of carrying cannabis and cocaine has been arrested in Whitstable town centre.

The 23-year-old, of no fixed address, was held on suspicion of drug offences after a Renault Clio was stopped by police in Oxford Street at about 4.20pm yesterday.

Cannabis and a large block of white powder - suspected to be cocaine - were seized at the scene.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis and a class A drug with intent to supply, and driving while unfit through drugs.

He has been released while enquiries continue.
