A man in his late 20s was allegedly assaulted on the seafront after apprehending a suspected vandal.

Just after midday, the man left his van parked near Tankerton seafront - not far from the beach huts.

Moments later, the window of his van was smashed.

Police are keen to identify this man. Picture: Kent Police

The victim - who was still in the area when it happened - rushed over to his vehicle and challenged the person he believed smashed the window.

But the suspect then allegedly assaulted him.
