Police urge victim of assault and robbery near Chestfield and Swalecliffe station to come forward

The victim of a mugging near Whitstable has been urged to come forward.

A witness reported seeing a boy being assaulted and possibly robbed by two other lads beneath the railway bridge next to Chestfield and Swalecliffe station.

The incident happened at about 6.20pm on June 15.

Inquiries into the report are ongoing but no victim has yet come forward.

Det Insp Sheena Barrell, of East Kent CID, said: ”'This is a troubling report and we are working to find out exactly what happened.

“If you are the victim of this incident, or know the person who is, please get in contact so we can get the full details and work to bring offenders to justice.”
