You can watch a number of classic films from the comfort of your deckchair when Whitstable Outdoor Film Festival launches next week.

With a late-summer heatwave expected to kick in next week, with the thermometer creeping up to 25C, it could be the perfect evening at the seaside - but act fast as some of them are already sold out.

After a complete sell-out 2015, this year, Whitstable Jaws, in association with Faversham Steam Brewery, have arranged for Dirty Dancing, Jaws, Stand By Me, Gladiator, Labyrinth and Pulp Fiction to be projected on the big screen.

Whitstable outdoor cinema is returning to the beach.

Starting off on the Waterfront balcony, you can enjoy Jaws on Monday, September 12 (sold out) and Stand By Me on Tuesday, September 13.

Moving 200 metres down the shore, the next venue is the East Quay where you can actually sit on the beach and enjoy Labyrinth on Wednesday, September 14 and Dirty Dancing on Thursday, September 15 (sold out).

For the final two days over the weekend, head to the garden of the Umbrella Centre for Gladiator on Friday, September 16 and Pulp Fiction on Saturday, September 17 (sold out), where they have a cocktail bar open too.

The events open at 7pm with the film starting at 8pm.
