Michael Hay from Bromley and Wayne Farrell from Swanley charged with stealing car from Whitstable after police chase

Two men have been charged on suspicion of stealing a car from a Whitstable property - after a police chase 50 miles away.

On Wednesday, officers from the Met Police stopped a car in the Abbey Wood area of London following a short chase.

Michael Hay, 28, of Ringers Road in Bromley and Wayne Farrell, 41, of Lullingstone Avenue in Swanley have been arrested.

Kent Police officers made enquiries around the vehicle - which is believed to have been taken from a property in Whitstable on April 18.

Both men were subsequently charged with affray and theft of a motor vehicle.

Mr Hay was also charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and driving without a licence or insurance.

Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates Court via video link on Saturday, and have been bailed to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on May 28.
