Two charged in connection with attempted aggravated burglary in Joy Lane, Whitstable

Police were called after two people allegedly made threats and tried to access a home in Whistable.

The occupants of the house, in Joy Lane, had answered the door when the duo reportedly attempted to gain entry.

Officers attended on Wednesday evening and carried out a search of the area before making two arrests.

A 17-year-old boy from Whitstable has been charged with attempted aggravated burglary, possession of a bladed article in a public place and assaulting an emergency worker.

He was also charged with a separate matter of making threats to kill.

Danny McGuire, 27, of no fixed address, was also charged with attempted aggravated burglary and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He has also been charged with causing damage to a police vehicle.

Both appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today (Friday) where they were remanded to appear in court at a later date.
