Woman 'smashes up' police car in Whitstable Harbour Street

A vandal has left a police car in ruins after attacking it while it was parked in Whitstable town centre.

The suspect, believed to be a local woman, carried out the attack in Harbour Street just before 10.30am today.

Rear and side windows of the marked Ford Fiesta were completely smashed in the rampage, which also saw both wing mirrors knocked off.

Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.

A 52-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

She remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
