Jewellery stolen from Reppin & Jones in Whitstable during burglary

The owners of a Whitstable shop are "devastated" after jewellery worth thousands of pounds was swiped during an early morning raid.

Reppin & Jones in High Street was targeted between 3.30am and 4am yesterday.

A large number of rings and other items were stolen.

Damage was also caused to the front door of the building and a cabinet inside.

The company posted on its Facebook page: "We would like to inform all of our wonderful clients and customers that sadly our beautiful jewellers was broken into in the early hours of this morning causing considerable damage and loss.

"As you can imagine this is extremely devastating and we wanted to thank Kent Police, the CSI and detective sergeant for being so efficient, not to mention the wonderful neighbouring business owners for their support and of course our loyal and fantastic customers for your patience and kindness during this time."

The company warned its customers there may be a "slight delay" on jewellery repairs/alterations and orders.

Detectives investigating the burglary have released images of some of the stolen property and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Witnesses or anyone who is approached with these items for sale should call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/25085/20. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by dialling 0800 555 111.

Officers are also appealing for any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, near to the junction with Gladstone Road, during the time of the incident.
