A dad-of-three sexually assaulted a teenager after trying to “beguile” her with a tattoo of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh.

Steven Davies, 56, used his skin art as a ruse to grope the petrified 19-year-old.

And after doing it he told her: “Oops, I’m going to get into trouble for this.”

Davies, a platform attendant with Southeastern Trains, had dropped his trousers to show his shocked victim thigh drawings of Tigger and a boat.

But a judge at Canterbury Crown Court heard how he had tried a similar trick in 2013 to grope a woman – and escaped with a police caution.

Now Davies, of The Warren, Whitstable, has been jailed for 20 months after pleading guilty to the attack.

Judge James O’Mahony told him: “Just how you thought a teenager would be fooled by that is something which is quite beyond me.

“How stupid for you to think she would be beguiled by you talking about your tattoos or be fooled into thinking it was just an innocent exchange of views.

“You took the opportunity to talk with her about your tattoos – this was classic grooming.”

The court heard how after lowering his trousers to show his tattoos, he then put his hand on the victim’s stomach before sliding it towards her underwear.

The pervert told the shocked woman: “Oops, I’m going to get into trouble for this… don’t tell anyone.”

Phil Rowley, defending, said Davies’s wife was standing by him but feared they would lose the family home if he was jailed.

He said that Davies had been a platform assistant with Southeastern for 14 years – although the offence did not take place at work.

He added it had not been planned and asked for the judge to suspend any sentence.

He said: “He is petrified about the prospect of going to prison and the effects on his wife.”

Judge O’Mahony told Davies how his victim “froze” during the attack and had been left traumatised.

He said: “You have a previous caution for this type of offence. The facts of this case are serious.

“What you did caused real problems and upset to your victim. This is classic grooming and the effect at the time must have been unimaginable for her.

“She is frank enough to admit that she turned to drugs to get over the torment in her mind.”
