Southeastern trains delayed after vehicle hits railway bridge between Whitstable and Faversham

Trains have been delayed because a vehicle has struck a railway bridge near Whitstable.

Southeastern services were initially suspended between Faversham and Ramsgate following the incident shortly after 1pm.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the collision in Faversham Road, Seasalter, at about 1pm.

A Southeastern spokesman said shortly before 2pm that the line had been assessed and was reopen.

Delays were expected to continue until 2.30pm.
