Trespasser on tracks near Chestfield and Swalecliffe

Trains have been halted due to a trespasser on the tracks.

Commuters are being held up on the line between Thanet and Faversham due to the incident in the Chestfield and Swalecliffe area, near Whitstable.

Trains have stopped at Herne Bay and rail users have been warned to expect delays.

Southeastern confirmed at about 7.15pm the trespasser had been apprehended.

Trains will be able to run at reduced speed through the area again shortly.
