More than 2,000 homes were left without power last night after a fire in Clowes Wood destroyed an electricity pole.
Footage taken by passerby Luke Elliott shows the fire engulfing the pole and surrounding trees.
Two fire engines attended the blaze just before 9pm yesterday, and spent more than an hour bringing it under control.
Power has now been restored to the majority of homes affected, but 35 customers in the Chestfield area are still without electricity.
A spokesman for UK Power Networks, which is responsible for the network, said: "Engineers are working as quickly as possible to restore electricity to 35 customers in the Radfall Road area of Chestfield.
"Most power supplies were restored by 9.34pm last night, after a fault on our overhead electricity network at 8.45pm initially interrupted supplies to 2,458 customers.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and work is continuing to reconnect the remaining supplies."
The company is investigating the cause of the incident.
Nobody is thought to have been injured.
