Man who died on Whitstable beach named as Chris Humphrey after suffering suspected heart attack

A young man who died after suffering a suspected heart attack on Whitstable beach has today been named as Chris Humphrey.

The 28-year-old collapsed by steps on the promenade near the Neptune pub on Friday.

Ambulance crews were called to Island Wall at 6pm, but despite the best efforts of paramedics they were unable to resuscitate him.

Coroner Alan Blunsdon says a post-mortem examination has yet to be carried out, but investigators believe he may have suffered a heart attack.

Police spokesman Nicola Foreman said the death was not suspicious.
