Whitstable: E-fit released of burglar confronted by pensioner in Castle Road

A pensioner in her 80s challenged an intruder found inside her house.

The burglar, who claimed to be a decorator, left the house in Castle Road in Whitstable after the elderly woman confronted him between 10am and 12pm on Monday, June 12.

Nothing was reported stolen.

Police are hunting for a man of this description.

Investigating officer detective constable Lucy Fisk said: “The victim has told us she believes she had seen the man in the area on several occasions in the two weeks leading up to the incident.”

He is described as aged between 30 and 40, white, about 5ft 6in tall and of a medium build with light brown hair. He was wearing a brown or green button-up jacket.

Detective constable Fisk added: “We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the computer-generated image or who remembers seeing a man in the Castle Road area in the last few weeks.”
