There have been long delays on a busy route during rush hour after a crash resulted in an oil spill.
Traffic was queuing for two miles on the A299 Thanet Way at Whitstable after a collision between a car and a van near the Clapham Hill junction at 7.46am.
Police said no serious injuries were reported.
A Kent County Council representative attended the scene in order to clear an "oil spillage", Kent Highways has tweeted.
Motorists are advised to approach with caution.
One resident posted on Facebook that there was a "huge traffic jam coming out of Thanet".
