Dad of three John Greenan is driving home for Christmas in a new car after winning a £55,000 Tesla from online competition BOTB.
Christmas came early for the 51-year-old Whitstable dad, who scooped the top of the range car plus £20,000 cash from a £1.50 ticket in the company’s spot the ball-style competition - botb.com/winners/mw5021.
The building surveyor found out he was this week’s winner when BOTB’s Sean Hall turned up at his home in Whitstable to tell him.
“We’ve got a video doorbell so I saw Sean standing at the door and just couldn’t believe it,” he laughed. “I’m going to save the recording to remember it forever.”
John, who lives with his wife Rachael and their 20-year-old daughter Maddie, said he played for the Tesla Model Y long range because he’s always wanted one.
“They’re the future aren’t they?” said John, who's also father to Daisy, 29, and Jakob, 27. ““I know a few people who have Teslas and they love them - and I enjoy my tech so I thought I’d enjoy it."
As well as the new Tesla, which charges to 80 per cent in 30 minutes, John also won £20,000 which was waiting for him in the boot of the car.
He said she’d put the money towards house renovations.
BOTB hands over the keys to two stunning cars each week as well as a lifestyle prize, with recent winners have bagged a quad bike, a holiday to Las Vegas and a gaming tech bundle.
The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £44m-worth of cars so far.
BOTB’s Sean said: “I love surprising the lucky BOTB but there’s something extra special about giving them the good news so close to Christmas, I feel like Santa Claus! Massive congratulations once again John and Rachael - have a very merry Christmas!”
