About 150 static holiday caravans could be erected on green land just outside Whitstable.
Alberta Holiday Park has submitted an application to the city council to place 143 on land just off Faversham Road - to the south of its current main site in Seasalter.
The holiday park - owned by Park Holidays UK Ltd - has planning permission and a site licence for up to 400 static holiday caravans.
It currently houses about 332 static holiday caravans - 68 below its maximum.
The majority of these units are privately-owned, with only 10 caravans being operated on a rental basis by the park and six being occupied by staff during the operating season.
It also features amenities such as a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool and clubhouse.
But now, company bosses hope to extend the holiday park to accommodate 143 caravans on a section of green land.
This will comprise 73 new static pitches, as well as the relocation of 70 caravans from the existing Alberta site - which the park is unable to accommodate due to its density and spacing requirements.
The caravans will be "single-width units" in keeping with those already at Alberta Holiday Park - and would be used strictly for holiday purposes between March 1 and January 15.
In documents supporting the application, a spokesman said: "The planning application has been submitted to address the very high level of demand the park experiences for holiday pitches during the year, and is also a commitment by Park Holidays UK to provide a high-quality, exclusive element to the holiday park and to enhance the economic sustainability of the park as a major rural tourism business and employer."
The plans are open for public comment on Canterbury City Council's planning website until May 24, under the reference CA//19/00707.
