A man is said to have exposed himself to a woman after pretending to be interested in buying her beach hut.
The “distressing” incident is reported to have happened on Tankerton seafront on Friday, with police now investigating.
The Tankerton Bay Beach Hut Association has since sent out a warning to its members about the alleged flasher.
It said: “Regrettably, we have been made aware of a distressing incident that occurred around 5pm on Friday, March 21, at the beach huts on Tankerton Slopes.
“A young man engaged one of our members in conversation, pretending to be someone looking to buy a hut.
“After trying to get her to show him inside her hut, he exposed himself.
“He was about 5ft 9, slim build, caucasian and blue-eyed.
“He had curly brown hair and was wearing a dark sweatshirt with a white motif and shorts.
“It was also noted that he had a West Country accent.”
The association went on to tell owners to “please consider very carefully if you need to be at your hut on your own”.
“Definitely make sure a partner, friend, or neighbour knows where you are if you are spending time at your hut by yourself,” it added.
“Always have your phone with you and fully charged. Above all else, please stay alert and stay safe.
“The beach hut owner is unharmed, but extremely grateful to another hut owner who kindly came along and sat with her while she waited for the police to arrive, so a big thank you to that kind man.”
Kent Police confirmed it was made aware of an incident of indecent exposure on Tankerton beach at about 5pm on Friday.
