Shocking footage shows a driver narrowly escaping a head-on crash after making a risky overtake on a bend.
The hair-raising moment was captured on dashcam at about 10.30pm last night on the Old Thanet Way, near Whitstable.
The near-miss on the Old Thanet Way
It shows a dark-coloured car - thought to be a Peugeot 4x4 - overtaking a driver as they approached a bend near Chestfield.
Driving on the wrong side of the road, the overtaking car passes on the other side of three islands in the middle of the carriageway.
Shortly after passing the third, two oncoming cars approach with their headlights on.
The overtaking car is seen nipping back to the correct side of the road just in time - escaping a head-on collision by a fraction of a second, as a horn blares.
The video was posted to Facebook by the shocked driver who was overtaken.
He wrote: "Sickens me to think that even if it was just a moment later that would have been an 80mph head on collision with whatever poor sod was coming the other way.
"Honestly never seen such selfish and dangerous driving in my time and I highly recommend you thank your stars that lady luck was with you tonight."
The man is hoping to extract the car's registration number from his dashcam footage before contacting the police.
