A major route was shut after a van fire and diesel spillage.
The A299 Thanet Way near Whitstable was fully closed coastbound with reports of queuing traffic.
Following clear-up efforts, the route has now reopened.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of a van on fire on the A299 coastbound at Seasalter, Whitstable.
“Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the flames.
“There were no reported injuries, and the cause is not yet known but is believed to be accidental.”
A police spokesman added: “We assisted Kent Fire and Rescue Service at the scene of a vehicle fire on the A299 Thanet Way at 10.30am today.
“Officers worked with Highways officers to fully reopen the eastbound carriageway.”
