Whitstable’s famous Oyster Festival will be held across three days in July, it has been revealed today.
The popular event, which has been scaled back in recent years, will be run by Full Event Production for the first time.
The events firm won a £120,000 tender in October to run the festival for the next four years.
It said at the time: “We are very much looking forward to engaging with both the residents of Whitstable and local businesses in order to produce a festival that pleases as many people as possible.”
Cllr Neil Baker added: “They put together a comprehensive bid and showed real passion for the festival, so we’re looking forward to working with them over the next four years.”
The festival was scaled back last year over fears of a repeat of the anti-social behaviour which blighted the event the year before.
Previous organiser The Event Umbrella, which also put in a bid for the tender, has now stepped down after five years at the helm.
This year’s festival will take place from Saturday, July 21, to Monday, July 23.
