For the penultimate day of kmfm's Make Someone's Christmas, Jackie Kavanagh from Whitstable was nominated by her daughter, Natasha Leeds.

Natasha said: "Eighteen months ago, we lost my brother to suicide. My mum has been the strongest person I know, raising awareness for male suicide and also organising a charity fun day for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and raised more than £3000.

"She has since got in contact with other mums and is trying to set up a charity to help men who are going through difficult periods of their lives.

"Through all the upset, she is still trying to help others and forgets herself."

Drivetime presenter Rob Wills broadcast the call at 6pm today and Jackie explained how important she feels CALM is.

She said: "If CALM had been available to my son or we knew about it then maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation now. So, I just do as much as I can really to help others.

"Just want to bring families together so you don't feel on your own out there. The charity has got a lot of support for the families after they've lost somebody aswell."

The 54-year-old explained how hard it's been since losing her son Liam, but added: "I've got so many good people around me so we are getting there.

"Part of being a mum is just soldiering on and keeping everyone strong."

As a Christmas treat, Jackie will be getting shopping vouchers so she can have a day to herself, on behalf of kmfm and McArthurGlen Ashford Designer Outlet.

Make Someone's Christmas is in its fifth year and aims to surprise 10 people in Kent over two weeks.

After receiving hundreds of nominations, seven surprise calls have now been made. Tune into kmfm tomorrow at 6pm to hear the final call.

If you are going through a difficult time and would like some support, you can call CALM on 0800 585858.
