A town centre car park will be partially shut next week.

Southern Water have written to residents about the half-closure of the Gorrell Tank car park in Whitstable.

The section will be shut for five days from Monday, November 4, until Friday, November 8.

Southern Water will install monitoring equipment in the stormwater tank under the car park - which has 245 parking spaces.

The schedule of the works has been organised so the usual market can still take place on Thursday.

Alternative local parking is available at Gladstone Road, Kearn’s Yard, Middle Wall, Shaftesbury Road, Victoria Street, Tankerton Road, Whitstable Harbour and Whitstable Leisure Centre.

A spokesperson for Southern Water said: "We apologise for any inconvenience and thank everyone for their patience whilst we complete this essential work."
