A pensioner has appeared in court this morning accused of buggery and indecent assault.
Michael Snyder, 68, of Regent Street, spent less than five minutes in the docks at Canterbury Magistrates Court as the case was sent to crown court.
He has been charged with four counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14 in Whitstable between January 1999 and December 2000 as well as buggery.
Wearing trainers, jeans, a white t-shirt and black jacket he only spoke to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
Magistrates told him the case would be heard at Canterbury Crown Court due to the severity of the alleged offences.
Snyder was released on bail and ordered to attend the court on Tuesday, May 27.
