A person was checked over by firefighters after a garage caught alight.

Crews were called at 3.19pm to Newton Road in Whitstable.

Two engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and covering jets to extinguish the flames.

One casualty was checked over by crews as a precaution.

It is thought the fire started accidentally.
