An overgrown seafront plot in Whitstable has gone on the market for £1 million.
The site, which opens out onto the shingle beach at Seasalter, is billed as the perfect spot to build a dream house.
And despite its eye-watering price tag, prospective buyers are said to
be queuing up to bag the picturesque site.
“The key selling point is the location,” said Will Roalfe, a director at Christopher Hodgson Estate Agents, which is marketing the land.
“Most sea-facing positions, not just along the Whitstable coast, but along the whole Kent coast, have a road between the property and the beach. But this is truly beachfront.”
Planning permission for a contemporary four-bedroom beach house, designed by Canterbury-based architects Taylor Roberts Ltd, has already been secured for the 10,530 sq ft plot.
Christopher Hodgson says it has been “thoughtfully designed to take advantage of unrivalled panoramic sea views”.
But Mr Roalfe says a buyer may wish to apply for permission to build two houses on the land, where neighbouring properties have sold for upwards of £1 million.
Two homes previously stood on the site, but were knocked down in 2013.
