Whitstable's biggest car park has been closed for emergency repairs and will remain so for up to five weeks.
The Gorrell Tank on the seafront - which has 204 spaces - has been shut due to further remedial work needed by Southern Water to the supports underneath it.
It means there is likely to be parking misery for visitors to the town, especially over this bank holiday weekend when it is likely to be flooded with visitors.
The car park was first closed in April 2014 when defects were discovered and not fully re-opened until July 2016 following a £750,000 repair project to the foundations which contain a vital stormwater tank.
But now a recent inspection by the company's engineers has shown the new supports put in place need additional remedial work.
It says the car park has to close on health and safety grounds.
A spokesman added: "We understand and apologise for any inconvenience this might cause but we must put the safety of the public first.
"It is likely this work will take up to five weeks. We’ll reopen the car park open as soon as it is safe to do so."
