Despite the ski season being scrapped this year, one enthusiast has taken to the slopes closer to home on a Kent seafront.
Whitstable resident Amy Moore decided to race down the hills at Tankerton following the heavy downfall overnight.
She converted the seafront slope into her very own track this morning, complete with a small ramp, and admits she had "super fun".
Asked why she decided to ski down The Slopes, she told KentOnline: "Why not?
"I have skied since I was a kid. I absolutely love it and I just thought it would be a fun thing to do.
"I was meant to be going on holiday to Verbier [in Switzerland] and I’ve had quite a few of my ski trips cancelled - obviously because we can’t fly any more.
"I absolutely believe it is a sport that you can do social distancing and I think the ski resorts have done a really good job at that. It is a real shame we can’t go and ski."
Ms Moore, who has enjoyed the hobby for more than 30 years, made a ramp at the bottom of the slopes so she could jump across the footpath onto the beach.
And following her session, she skied back home to Whitstable.
"I have never seen anybody ski on Tankerton Slopes," she added.
Freezing temperatures and icy conditions have wreaked havoc on Kent's roads today - after a fresh weather warning was issued for the county.
Many areas had fresh snowfall overnight as the mercury dipped to -7C in some places, the lowest it has been for many years, making it difficult for drivers this morning.
