Sneak peak inside Whitstable’s first 24-hour gym

Fresh images and a virtual tour show how a new 24-hour gym will look as bosses announce a summer opening date.

Snap Fitness is due to launch its newest location at the John Wilson Business Park in Whitstable in August.

Radio House was previously the home of the Kent branch of Heart Radio before the studio’s closure in 2019.

But the building will now be transformed into a three-floor fitness centre with modern cardio and weightlifting equipment, a group exercise studio and a recovery zone.

On the ground floor, visitors will find a coffee bar-style reception area, free weights up to 50kg, three Olympic lifting platforms and a range of plate-loaded strength machines.

The floor above will feature a group exercise studio including on-demand virtual workouts, dedicated group cycling studio, private bathrooms, changing area and recovery zone with massage guns.

While on the second floor, cardio equipment will consist of treadmills, cross-trainers, rowing machines, stair climbers, static cycling bikes and more.

The second floor will also have a weight training space including five squat racks, track and equipment including kettlebells and weighted bags.

Membership at the Whitstable branch is expected to cost about £34, with included group exercise classes and free on-site parking.

The gym will be Snap’s 99th franchise location across the UK & Ireland.

Owner Kunal Patel, who also runs the site in Herne Bay, said: “We are extremely excited to be able to open two gyms in neighbouring towns to inspire and nurture the wellbeing of such a special community.”

Mr Patel added: “We are a family-owned business ourselves and with this now being our third location in the Kent area.

“We are most excited to create a hub for the local community to focus on their mental and physical wellbeing.”
