A train station vending machine was smashed up by vandals and then apparently raided for goods.
Pictures taken on Sunday at Whitstable train station show glass on the platform and discarded springs which had been wrenched from the machine.
Empty crisp packets litter the floor and the contraptions appears to have been emptied of sweet treats.
Rocks that looked like they were from the train tracks were also spotted nearby, and could have been used to smash the protective screen.
A spokesperson for Southeastern said: “We are aware the vending machine at Whitstable was severely damaged over the weekend.
“This has been reported to the British Transport Police (BTP) and anyone with any information should contact them as soon as possible.
“In the meantime, we are working with our suppliers to have the machine repaired or replaced as swiftly as possible.”
A BTP spokesperson added officers were contacted by staff at the station at 9:15am on Sunday, March 10 reporting damage to the vending machine at the station.
“It is believed the incident took place overnight between 9pm on Saturday, March 9 and 8.30am on Sunday March, 10,” they added.
“The incident is being investigated.”
