Five Southern Counties East League sides have made it through to the last 64 of the FA Vase.

The all-Premier Division second round clash at The Belmont went the way of hosts Whitstable, who overcame Lydd 2-1 thanks to an injury-time own goal.

A crowd of 401 saw Whitstable go ahead through Harvey Smith on the hour mark but Matthew Astle equalised on 68 minutes for Lydd.

The tie looked set to go to penalties but an own goal from Lydd player-boss Ryan Smith in the fifth minute of stoppage time saw Whitstable progress.

Erith & Belvedere won their third penalty shoot-out in this season’s competition to triumph against fellow Premier Division side Bearsted.

After a goalless draw at Honey Lane, the Deres won 4-2 on spot-kicks to progress, having also won against Wallingford & Crowmarsh and Godalming Town in similar fashion.

Safely through are Faversham Town, courtesy of a 4-1 home victory against Billingshurst.

A Jack French own goal on six minutes plus Tashi-Jay Kwayie on 19 minutes put Faversham in charge with Callum Davies adding a third before half-time.

Jamie Smith pulled one back for the visitors before Kwayie scored Faversham’s fourth with 20 minutes left.

Premier Division leaders VCD Athletic had an Ollie Freeman double to thank for their 2-0 home win over Arundel.

Freeman converted Connor Kelly’s cross on 12 minutes and then added a second from the penalty spot early in the second half.

It’s the end of the FA Vase dream for Division 1 Rochester, beaten 1-0 at home by Fleet Town.

The only goal of the game came after just three minutes when a home player turned a corner past his own keeper.

Rochester played the last 40 minutes with 10 men after a red card for Lucas Payne.

Penalty shoot-outs also decided the fate of Tunbridge Wells, Holmesdale and Division 1 Clapton Community.

Former FA Vase finalists Wells progressed 3-0 on penalties against Hassocks following a goalless draw at The Culverden.

But Holmesdale went out after a 1-1 draw at Spelthorne Sports and Clapton suffered the same fate having played out a goalless draw with Thetford Town.

In league action, the manager-of-the-month curse struck for Rusthall boss Jimmy Anderson, whose side lost 2-1 at third-placed Fisher.

Kennington moved off the foot of the table with a 2-1 win over Larkfield, Kyron Lightfoot and Ed Miller on target for the hosts.

Chris Alhassan scored Stansfeld’s winner in a 1-0 victory at Punjab United but was then later sent off for two yellow cards.

Glebe also won on their travels, Fred Obasa’s ninth-minure goal enough for the three points at Snodland.

In Division 1, promotion-chasing Forest Hill and Soul Tower Hamlets shared the points while welling Town picked up only their second league win – 2-1 at home to Tooting Bec.
