Simon Halsey accepts his position as Whitstable manager is on the line, and admits he deserves to be under pressure.
Town return to The Belmont on Saturday to face Walton & Hersham (3pm) having conceded 19 goals in their last four home games and lost eight of their last nine overall in Ryman League Division 1 South.
Halsey admitted: “I need to get results, that’s for sure, and I need to get them quickly. I have been around the game long enough to know football is a results business and I am a manager who’s not getting results.
“The chairman and I talk every couple of days, we are in constant communication.
“Of course I am under pressure and, quite rightly, my job is on the line if I can’t turn things around, and quickly.
“We have only got seven points and we need to get some points on the board.”
Halsey admitted the task he signed up for when replacing Will Graham in September was tougher than he’d expected.
He said: “It’s been more difficult than I thought when I took it on but we’ve come from miles behind, we had a disastrous pre-season and then a disastrous start.
“I’ve got to get players in that are able to help us out of this situation, hopefully there are a couple more to come before Saturday.
“The only silver linings at the moment were getting Dan Eason and Scott Punton in on Tuesday.”
Town went down 3-0 to leaders Folkestone, three days after a 4-2 reverse at Whyteleafe.
Halsey added: “Folkestone are where they are for a reason and we are where we are for a reason too. They have bullied us a bit, but we have to take it on the chin, we were beaten by the better side.”
