Scott Porter wants Whitstable Town to get back to winning ways in their FA Cup clash at CB Hounslow United on Saturday.
Whitstable were beaten in their first league match of the season on Sunday at Cray Wanderers.
Porter hopes to pick up a bit of momentum going into their next league match against Ramsgate on Monday.
He said: “We have had a report on Hounslow from the team that lost in the last round. It will be tough but every game in this cup will be.
“The money is obviously massively important clubs at this level. It would do wonders for the club.
“We want to get back to winning ways and if we come through that game on Saturday then that would give us momentum going into Monday.
“I watched Ramsgate against Hastings on Saturday. It will be a good test for us to see where we are at.”
Whitstable were given a tough match to start their league season at Cray Wanderers, who play at Bromley’s ground.
Cray have started the season strongly winning their first two matches and not conceding a goal.
Their Kent Senior Cup match on Tuesday evening against VCD was then postponed because some of the opposition players were delayed in getting to The Belmont because of traffic on the M2.
Porter said: “It gives us a bit more rest time. You can’t control these things but I’m not too disappointed that it was called off.
“We could not have got a harder first game than Cray Wanderers on Sunday on the 3G pitch.
“We have a good account of ourselves and I thought we could have come away with something but we gave a poor goal away.
“Once they went in front it was hard to get back into the game.
“The bigger picture is that we move on to the FA Cup game on Saturday and then to Ramsgate on Monday, who will be a good test for us.”
