Whitstable Town joint-boss Danny Ward says no Kent club in Ryman League Division 1 South have fared better than his when it comes to derbies

Danny Ward claims Whitstable are officially the best Kent team in Ryman League, Division 1 South this season – and he has the stats to prove it.
Despite sitting seventh, unable to make the play-offs with three games to go, and facing the prospect of seeing rivals Faversham and Folkestone battling for promotion after the regular season is over, Town joint-boss Ward says the club can be proud of the fact that no team fared better than them in Kent derbies this season.
Monday’s 2-0 victory at Herne Bay was Town’s seventh straight win against a county rival and ensured they will finish top of the theoretical points table created by the results of the games between Faversham, Folkestone, Herne Bay, Hythe, Sittingbourne, Ramsgate and Whitstable.
In the 12 matches, home and away, Whitstable have claimed 25 points, one more than third-placed Folkestone and two more than Faversham, who sit
second.
Ward joked: “I’m not really a stats man and it might not mean we’re the best side in Kent but we have won the Kent League – or at least won the league of the games between the clubs.”
Town began with just four points from five derbies before reeling off seven straight wins since December.
Ward added: “Monday was for the fans. They have been fantastic for us this year and we wanted them to have the bragging rights. It was comfortable win in the
end.”
Aaron James will return for a second trial at Millwall next week but is available for Saturday’s visit of Corinthian Casuals to Belmont (3pm).
