Whitstable have announced they have appointed Keith McMahon as their new boss.
The former Thamesmead Town and VCD Athletic manager takes over at the Belmont with the Oystermen second-bottom in Isthmian South East with just one point from six games this season.
He replaces Lloyd Blackman who resigned last month and couldn't hide his delight.
"I’m over the moon being named Whitstable Town (manager)," he said on Twitter.
"It’s a great club with a great committee and supporters."
Since Blackman's resignation, with player-coach Ben Harding in caretaker charge, Whitstable have been beaten 4-0 by Chichester in the FA Trophy and lost 4-3 to Cray Valley in the league last weekend, despite a Harry Stannard brace. Tom Mills was on target in the defeat as well, while Harry Goodger was sent off.
A Whitstable club statement said they had "received numerous applications and enquiries" and said the quality of candidates was high.
"We are delighted to confirm that Keith McMahon will be the new Whitstable Town manager with immediate effect," it read.
"Keith arrives with many years of experience in football management and the development of youth players, taking Thamesmead Town from the Kent League to the Isthmian Premier Division, then more recently, spending five years at VCD Athletic.
"Keith will be meeting the players and staff in the next couple of days and we welcome him to the Belmont.
"Following the unexpected resignation of Lloyd Blackman 12 days ago, the Whitstable Town directors received numerous applications and enquiries, concerning the vacant position of first-team manager.
"A series of interviews were carried out over three days during the past week and the quality of the candidates was high.
"We would like to thank everyone for their interest and especially those that took the time to discuss the position with us.
"The club would also like to offer special thanks to our player-coach Ben Harding, who has impressed everyone during his short time with us and whose help during this difficult interim period has been much appreciated."
McMahon, who parted company with VCD last June, will have more time to get to know his squad this weekend as they don't have a game.
His first competitive match in charge will be at Hastings next Tuesday night.
