Scott Porter looks to bring in two new faces to Whitstable Town’s squad following the departure of three players.
Josh Burchell, Brett Ince and Nathan Hardwick all left the club last week following the defeat to Ramsgate and Porter hopes to have the replacements signed by Monday.
Whitstable host Bognor Regis Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday and then travel to Ramsgate again for the first round of the Velocity Trophy on Tuesday.
Manager Porter said: “The second half performance against Ramsgate was not good enough and as a result three people left the club during the week.
“We have got two coming in on Monday. I have got what I want now with the squad and that is people who want to work for the football team.
“I’m pleased with how things are looking going into the FA Cup this weekend.
“The two new lads will hopefully feature in the Velocity Trophy game. They will get a run out and we will look to rest a few people.”
Whitstable will go into the FA Cup match with added confidence after beating the early pacesetters in the Bostik South East.
They had a 1-0 win over Ashford United on Saturday to pick up their first points of the season.
Porter said: “We were up against an Ashford team who are right up there at the beginning of the season.
“It was an outstanding team performance from us. It is how I want my teams to play and it was a credit to the boys and the way we conducted ourselves.
“They had two shots on target in the whole game and we defended very well.
“It was a great day for the football club to pick up the first points back in the Bostik league.
“It was the reaction I was after and it proved that the people in the dressing want to fight for the football club. The two players coming in fit that bill as well.”
