Man wanted by Interpol arrested at Ashford International station

A man wanted internationally has been arrested at a Kent train station.

The man, who is wanted by Interpol, was taken into custody by British Transport Police officers after he was spotted at Ashford International station.

Officers acted after it was shown he was on the international police force’s Red Notice list – a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.

In a social media post transport police said they are now communicating with Interpol “to see what actions they wish us to take”.

The British Transport Police has been approached for further comment.
