A crash on a key route has led to long delays.

The A2070 Kennington Road in Ashford is blocked in both directions after an accident near its junction with Blackwall Road North.

There is understood to have been debris in the road, which is near the William Harvey Hospital.

Kent Highways tweeted about the accident just after 4pm but as of 6pm the road is believed to still be blocked.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Kent Police attended following a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Kennington Road and Blackwall Road North, Ashford shortly before 3pm on Monday 25 September 2023.

"Officers assisted with traffic management and the recovery of the vehicles and two people were treated at the scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
