Woman dies after being taken unwell at Ashford Asda

A woman has died following a medical incident at a supermarket which prompted a large emergency response.

Ambulance crews and police descended on the Asda Superstore in Kimberley Way, Ashford, at 6pm on Friday.

The customer was taken to hospital in a serious condition but later died.

Flowers have since been laid at the store’s entrance paying tribute to the woman.

A SECAmb spokesperson told KentOnline: “Crews assessed and treated the patient before conveying them to William Harvey Hospital in a serious condition.”

Police confirmed nearby officers attended the scene to assist paramedics.

Asda has been contacted for comment.
