Woman who died on M20 near Ashford named as charity volunteer Dani Tuohy, 25

A woman who tragically died on the M20 last week was wearing hospital clothing and had been reported missing shortly before her death.

Dani Tuohy, 25, from Ashford, died on Thursday after a “serious collision” near Junction 9, under the A28 Canterbury Bridge in Kennington.

Police were called to the scene at 12.58pm, with a driver informing officers they had seen a woman approach the bridge and climb over it shortly before.

Miss Tuohy, who was a charity volunteer and known in the town for her online reviews of afternoon tea cafes, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An inquest into her death opened at Oakwood House in Maidstone today, and was told she had been wearing hospital clothing that matched a description given of her for a missing person report.

A pre-inquest review will be held in April ahead of a full hearing to examine the circumstances of Miss Tuohy’s death.

Flowers were left at the bridge after the tragedy, with one card reading: “May you rest in peace, dear girl.”

Another said: “Always in our memories and loved always.”
