A railway station has fully reopened after being forced to close earlier following an emergency incident.

Trains are now able to call at Welling, after Southeastern had earlier said a passenger falling ill at the station left trains using the Bexleyheath line, which links Dartford to Charing Cross and Victoria, unable to stop.

The train company wrote on X: “Trains can now call at Welling following emergency services dealing with an incident earlier.”

It had earlier stated “a passenger has been taken ill” and advised those at the station to use their ticket on London buses.
