A new Detroit-style pizza restaurant dubbed "Kent's first Detroit pizza joint" is to open this week.
Square Peg Detroit Pizza will open in the former Pork & Co unit in Sun Street, Canterbury, which has been vacant since the takeaway closed down in June.
The firm confirmed a soft launch will take place on Wednesday, before the grand opening to the public on Friday (Jan 20).
The eatery previously promised "lots of prizes, free food and gifts" to celebrate the occasion.
Teasing fans about the possible menu, the firm revealed one of its pizzas will be named after rapper Eminem, who has been called a "Detroit icon".
Detroit-style pizzas are known for their rectangular shape and thick, crispy cheesy crusts. They were created by pizzeria owners Gus and Anna Guerra in 1946.
The pizza joint said: "Detroit Pizza bases are crunchy, full of flavour and not circle, obviously, and Detroit-style pizza has big air pockets and a crunchy cheese edge."
The new restaurant, which is next to Chuck and Blade Burgers, unveiled distinctive red 'coming soon' signs in its windows before Christmas.
Alongside the Canterbury branch, the chain confirmed hopes of launching a store elsewhere in Kent, telling hopeful customers of plans to open up a shop in Rochester.
The restaurant's predecessor, Pork and Co, closed after 13 years when its lease expired in the summer.
The chain, known for its pulled pork, decided to scale back, but still has branches in Whitstable and Margate.
