Fire crews called to kitchen blaze at The Drapers Arms in Sun Street, Canterbury

A pub has been forced to close early after a fire in its kitchen.

The blaze broke out at The Drapers Arms in Sun Street, Canterbury, and has left with glass all over the street this evening.

Four engines were called to the premises at around 3.20pm and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the fire.

Three people at the scene were treated for suspected smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

Fire crews were stood down shortly before 5pm.

They say the cause of the blaze was an electrical fault.
