Firefighters were called to a village in the county earlier today – following fears of a blaze spreading to a nearby house.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service were present in Shalmsford Street in Chartham, Canterbury, this afternoon after reports of an outbuilding being alight.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene, where crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using hose reel jets, and stopped flames from spreading to an adjoining house.
There were no injuries reported with crews arriving at about 1.40pm and leaving almost three and a half hours later.
KFRS’ volunteer response team also attended to provide support to affected residents.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
