Emergency teams had to use specialist hydraulic cutting equipment to free a man from the wreck of a car crash in the early hours of this morning.
Four fire engines, police and paramedics rushed to the scene of the A2050 slip road for the A2 coastbound at Canterbury after a car smashed into a tree.
The incident took place just after 1.30am on Saturday morning.
The injured man was released from the wreckage and passed into the care of paramedics with what are believed to be serious injuries.
KFRS said: “Kent Fire Rescue Service was called to the A2050 slip road onto the A2 coastbound, Canterbury, to reports of a vehicle crash into a tree.
“Four fire engines attended, and crews used cutting equipment to free one person trapped inside a car, who was passed into the care of SECAmb paramedics.”
A police spokesperson added: “Kent Police was called at 1.34am on Saturday 16 December 2023, to a report a car had left the carriageway of the A2050 slip road onto the A2 near Canterbury.
“Officers, fire crews and paramedics attended the scene where the driver was treated for injuries. He was taken to hospital for further medical attention.”
Ambulance crews have been contacted for comment.
