A man has been taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a car crash.

The two-car collision happened this afternoon on the A28, near the junction with Howfield Lane, Chartham this evening.

Kent Police were called to the crash at 5.40pm with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics also in attendance.

The road remains closed in both directions and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.

Reports also state that Ashford Road is blocked both ways between the Garden Centre and Howfield Lane.
